l  設計理念

紅、白、藍，象徵自由、平等、博愛，同時也傳達了和平意涵的愛與和平之鴿，來到瓦店埤遺址。190公分高的清軍帽，象徵清軍提督孫開華的身高，也暗喻著過去清法兩軍在此短兵相接的歷史情境。

l  歷史表現

1884年清法戰爭滬尾之役時，清軍提督孫開華率部隊於瓦店埤舊址旁與法軍戰鬥。本作品透過一根高度190cm的清兵帽，暗示傳說中孫開華提督的身高；戰鬥用的槍械，則轉化為自由、平等、博愛的紅藍白圖騰。現在的時空下，清法雙方短兵相接的瓦店埤區域，已成為愛與和平之鴿駐留的小溪畔。

l  Artist’s Statement

The Former Location of Wadianbi was where General Sun Kaihua led his soldiers to fight against French invaders during the Battle of Tamsui. Depicted in the artwork with a Qing Dynasty helmet on top of a 190 cm steel pipe, the General was said to be a tall man. Rifles used in the battle are transformed into patterns in red, blue and white symbolizing liberty and peace. In current time and space, the house has become a site with doves of love and peace staying and a creek flowing by.
