l  設計理念

以「鴿子」造型，象徵現代社會的和平景象，藍、白、紅三色條紋的色彩配置，則隱喻1884年10月清法戰爭滬尾之役中，從淡水沙崙海灘登陸的法軍形象，讓人在這座傳統古厝邊，感受質樸、平靜的古蹟之美，同時也回望過去歷史中，發生於此地的戰爭情境。

l  歷史表現說明

「公司田溪程氏古厝」是淡水第一件被指定為「歷史建築」的傳統民宅，也是淡海新市鎮目前僅存的清代傳統住宅。由淡海輕軌「濱海沙崙站」步行約500公尺可抵達，是1884年清法戰爭滬尾之役時，法軍進攻路線中的重要活動點。愛與和平之鴿在程氏古厝前方草地駐足，紅磚基座與古厝相互呼應，散佈著愛與和平的氣息，邀請遊人休憩，同時了解週邊的歷史故事。

l  Artist’s Statement

As the first Historical Structure registered with Tamsui, Cheng’s Old Residence is the only remaining traditional residence of the Qing Dynasty in Danhai New Town. Visitors may take Danhai Light Rail Transit and alight at Binhai Shalun Station. Cheng’s Old Residence is located about 500 meters away, which is one of the historical site of French Route in the Cultural Guided Tour Event.

With a dove of love and peace stopping over on the grass in front of Cheng's Ancient House plus the red brick stand echoing red bricks of the ancient house, the installation conveys an atmosphere of love and peace and renders to visitors a repose as well as imagery of historical events.
