l  設計理念

藝術家依據史料，重現1884年法軍登陸淡水沙崙海灘的軍陣場景，並設計與環境（藍天／沙灘）相融之地景藝術作品，以現代藝術手法，將人形轉化為抽象直立三色鋼管，藍、白、紅三色烤漆對應法國國旗，使觀者易於識別為法軍象徵，高低起伏、相互間隔的作品間產生能行走之空間，使旅人能夠步入其中，在三色鋼管與地景相交錯的視覺效果下，遙想1884，現實與過去在此交錯融合，創造兩處特殊的文化歷史場域。

《清法滬尾戰役四部曲》首部曲-登陸（其一：沙崙海灘入口處）

西元1884年10月8日早上9時，法軍由淡水沙崙外海登陸，開啟了滬尾戰役的序章。本作品以當代藝術之形式，將法軍人形轉化為象徵法國國旗的藍、白、紅三色鋼管散佈於樹叢中，重現當時法兵在戰役中，身陷樹叢與地況阻礙的窘境。觀者在三色鋼管與地景相交錯中，遙想現實與過去在此重疊的事件地景中一處具特殊文史之場域。

l  Artist’s Statement

As a prelude to the Battle of Tamsui, French troops landed from the shore of Shalun, Tamsui at 9 a.m. on October 8, 1884. Based on contemporary art forms, this artwork depicts human figures of French soldiers with steel pipes in blue, white and red, a tricolor symbol of the French flag, scattering in the bushes, and recreates the predicaments encountered by French soldiers in the battle, fallen into traps of terrain features. At such a cultural and historical site and amidst the tricolor steel pipes and landforms, viewers will be able to think of the present and yearn for old times.

西元1884年10月8日早上9時，法軍由淡水沙崙外海登陸，開啟了滬尾戰役的序章。本作品將法軍士兵的戰鬥陣式轉化為藍、白、紅三色鋼管排列的旗幟，如隨海風飄揚在起伏的海浪上，整齊劃一又具律動感地排列於沙地，重現法軍登陸時的軍陣場景。

l  Artist’s Statement

As a prelude to the Battle of Tamsui, French troops landed from the shore of Shalun, Tamsui at 9 a.m. on October 8, 1884. To reproduce battle formations of French troops, the artwork represents arrays of French soldiers with uniformed tricolor flags of steel pipes in blue, white, and red, fluttering along with sea breeze and rippling waves on a piece of sandlot.
